New President announced for TWE Americas
Treasury Wine Estates has appointed Ben Dollard as its new President of company operations in the Americas.
The Australian-born marketer, who is currently president of craft and specialty with Constellation Brands in the US, will commence the role on January 13 and be based in TWE’s Californian offices.
Dollard replaces Angus McPherson, who was appointed to the role in August 2019 but was unable to take up the Americas leadership role during the current quarter due to personal reasons, and had since informed TWE he will be unable to relocate back to the US as planned.
McPherson (above), who was previously Managing Director, ANZ & Europe, will take up a revised role based in the company's Melbourne office from February 2020. He is currently on leave.
Dollard, a graduate of Adelaide University, has extensive experience in the drinks industry. During his 18 years with Constellation Brands, he has held positions such as chief growth officer, chief marketing officer and head of international markets.
TWE CEO Michael Clarke said: “The Americas region is one of TWE’s key regions and I am delighted that Ben will bring his strong leadership skills, exceptional market knowledge and extensive wine, distributor and retail experience to lead the delivery of TWE’s plans for our Americas business as outlined at our recent Investor Day.
“It is really unfortunate that Angus’ personal circumstances have kept him in Australia for quite some time. During this period, Tim Ford, Chief Operating Officer, and I have each been spending time in the Americas region covering the President Americas role. In the interim, Tim and I will continue to work in the US to ensure a smooth transition of the role to Mr Dollard.”
Clarke is set to stand down as CEO next year for personal reasons. Ford will replace him in the second half of 2020.
