New beer boss at IBA
Simon Cleave has been appointed to the role of IBA National Category Manager (Beer).
He joins Australian Liquor Marketers from Pernod Ricard where he has been working as a Customer Development Manager.
Cleave led long-term portfolio and pricing strategy planning for Australia to grow revenue across Pernod Ricard’s wine, Champagne and spirits portfolio.
Prior to that Cleave was with the Coles Liquor business in various buying and category roles across wine, spirits and private label portfolios, including Category Manager - Liquorland Warehouse and Category Manager - Spirits.
IBA is the second-largest network of liquor retail outlets in Australia, with approximately 2700 stores. The IBA network includes Cellarbrations, The Bottle-O, IGA Liquor, Duncans, Thirsty Camel, Big Bargain and Porters.
"The IBA Beer Category role has been vacant for a number of months now as we have been conducting the search for the right person to take on the role," noted Joel Zamek, National Merchandise & Promotions Manager.
"I would like to thank Troy Mullins (Category Co Ordinator Beer) for the extra effort put in during this time to ensure our beer promotional plans have been maintained."
Cleave will commence with IBA on September 23.
