Celebrating an amazing year of contribution to industry

In just a few weeks the Drinks Association will celebrate another year of drinks industry progress in D&I, gender equity, environmental and social responsibility at the 2019 Australian Drinks Awards.

The Drinks Association added a Contribution to Industry category to the Australian Drinks Awards in 2018, featuring Gender Equity, Inclusive & Diverse Workplace and the Corporate Social Responsibility awards.

Last year, Pernod Ricard Winemakers took out the inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Award for its Responsib’All Day initiative; Diageo won the inaugural Gender Equity trophy for its intiatives around making inclusion key to its business; and Lion won the inaugural Inclusive & Diverse Workplace award for its LionFlex flexible work options initiative.

Entries to the 2019 awards were judged earlier this month, with all three categories hotly contended once again.

Drinks Association CEO Georgia Lennon said: "We received an impressive number of submissions for the category and the high calibre of entries has made choosing the winners a daunting task.

"It's been another outstanding year of progress and achievement by our industry. We look forward to celebrating the amazing work drinks companies are doing to drive change at the Australian Drinks Awards on August 22."

Thank you to our Award Partners

The Drinks Association is thrilled to welcome Coles Liquor as a returning sponsor of the Inclusive & Diverse Workplace Award at the 2019 Australian Drinks Awards.

The Inclusive & Diverse Workplace Award celebrates organisations that prioritise diversity and recognise the value of an inclusive workplace for individuals and their organisations.

Coles Liquor Acting Executive Officer Cathi Scarce (above) presented the inaugural Inclusive & Diverse Workplace trophy at the 2018 Australian Drinks Awards to Lion for its LionFlex flexible work options initiative.

"We are very excited to be sponsoring the Diversity and Inclusion award again," Scarce said. "The quality of the entries last year showed how much great work there is being done cross the drinks industry and this award really brings those stories to life."

Additionally, Coles Liquor will sponsor the 2019 Gender Equity Award, which celebrates excellence in gender equity initiatives and programs in the workplace.

Endeavour Drinks Group also returns as the sponsor of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. As EDG noted last year: “Customers expectations are changing and to be relevant as a brand and a retailer we have to do the right thing, we’re all big businesses and with that comes big responsibilities.”

The Australian Drinks Awards are an initiative by The Drinks Association to celebrate excellence in the drinks industry. The 2019 awards will be held at Doltone House in Sydney on August 22.
